How to Start Affiliate Marketing Without a Following

How to Start Affiliate Marketing Without a Following Search Strategy Masterclass: …

  • 0:00 | Hey everyone, welcome
    back to another video.
  • 0:02 | In this video, I’m going to
be giving you a full tutorial
  • 0:04 | on how to start affiliate
    marketing with no audience.
  • 0:08 | So for those of you who do
    not already have a following
  • 0:10 | built up on any social media platforms,
  • 0:13 | this is going to be the video for you.
  • 0:14 | Now, what’s going to make
    this video super helpful
  • 0:16 | is I’m going to explain
    things on camera here,
  • 0:18 | but then also on screen
    recording on my computer
  • 0:21 | so you can follow along step by step.
  • 0:22 | So without further ado,
  • 0:23 | let’s get straight into this video.
  • 0:25 | If you are a beginner getting
    into affiliate marketing,
  • 0:27 | sit back, relax,
  • 0:28 | this is going to be a very helpful video.
  • 0:31 | Okay, so now that we are in the computer,
  • 0:32 | let’s first talk about the first concept
  • 0:34 | of an audience versus
    not having an audience.
  • 0:36 | So when most people talk about how
  • 0:39 | to do affiliate marketing,
  • 0:40 | which if you don’t know
    what affiliate marketing is,
  • 0:42 | the very simplified version of it
  • 0:44 | is you as a creator of creating
  • 0:46 | some kind of content on the internet,
  • 0:48 | you partner with different companies
  • 0:49 | that sell different products
that you know and you use.
  • 0:52 | It’s totally free to partner
    with those companies.
  • 0:54 | You simply go to their websites
  • 0:56 | and you join their what’s
    called affiliate program,
  • 0:58 | and they give you a unique referral link.
  • 1:00 | It’s basically a clickable
link that you can go share
  • 1:02 | with anyone and basically
    put it into your content
  • 1:05 | that you’re posting online.
  • 1:06 | And when anyone comes
    and sees your content,
  • 1:08 | they click on your referral link,
  • 1:10 | it takes ’em directly
    to the company’s website
  • 1:12 | where they can make a purchase
    of any of the products
  • 1:14 | you were talking about.
  • 1:15 | And if they do make a purchase,
  • 1:17 | you get paid a commission
    for sending that buyer
  • 1:20 | to the company.
  • 1:21 | the way that affiliate marketing is done
  • 1:23 | and the way that most people teach it,
  • 1:25 | is by you already having
    an audience or a following.
  • 1:28 | However, for 99% of people out there
  • 1:30 | who are getting into affiliate marketing,
  • 1:32 | they don’t already have an
audience or a following built up.
  • 1:36 | So what are you supposed to do?
  • 1:37 | What I’m about to show
you is what I refer to as
  • 1:40 | the search strategy for
    affiliate marketing.
  • 1:42 | And before I get into this,
  • 1:43 | let me first just preface this by saying,
  • 1:45 | this is the strategy
    for affiliate marketing
  • 1:47 | that I personally do.
  • 1:49 | I have multiple other YouTube
    channels that are specific
  • 1:52 | to different niches that I
    create affiliate content on.
  • 1:56 | This is something that most people
  • 1:57 | do not know about my business,
  • 1:59 | but this is where I’m
    spending a lot of time
  • 2:00 | creating content and posting it online
  • 2:03 | to do affiliate marketing.
  • 2:04 | Now, I’ll show you what
    all of that looks like,
  • 2:06 | but first I wanna walk you
  • 2:07 | through the whole sequence here
  • 2:08 | just so all this comes
    together nicely for you.
  • 2:11 | So for the example of this video,
  • 2:12 | I’m going to pick kind of a random niche,
  • 2:14 | and that’s what we’re going to use
  • 2:15 | to show how all of this works.
  • 2:17 | Now, the niche that I’ll use
    for this video is fishing,
  • 2:19 | and that’ll allow us to
    show all of the steps.
  • 2:21 | So first things first,
  • 2:22 | to show what this typically looks like.
  • 2:24 | If you went over to Instagram,
  • 2:25 | just a popular social media platform
  • 2:27 | and you typed in fishing,
  • 2:29 | you’re going to see all of these posts
  • 2:30 | that have a great opportunity
    to do affiliate marketing.
  • 2:33 | So if you click on any of these posts,
  • 2:34 | you’re going to see that these creators
  • 2:36 | have a following already.
  • 2:38 | That’s just how they’re
    ranking on Instagram,
  • 2:40 | and that’s why they have an
    audience waiting for them.
  • 2:41 | That’s how they can easily
    do affiliate marketing.
  • 2:44 | So looking at this creator,
  • 2:45 | they have 126,000 followers on Instagram
  • 2:48 | and they also have a YouTube channel.
  • 2:49 | We’ll open that up just so we can see
  • 2:50 | how many subscribers they have over here,
  • 2:52 | and that’s just about a hundred thousand.
  • 2:54 | So this is typically
  • 2:55 | how affiliate marketing
    is going to be done.
  • 2:57 | You have a full audience,
  • 2:58 | you can create any kind
    of content that you want,
  • 3:00 | and then you can plug in
    the different products
  • 3:02 | that you use throughout that video
  • 3:03 | with a link in the description.
  • 3:05 | Now, if you don’t
    already have a following,
  • 3:07 | how are you supposed to show up
  • 3:08 | in all of these search results of fishing?
  • 3:10 | Just because there are so
    many other big creators
  • 3:12 | that are just going to
    overpower your content.
  • 3:14 | Well, that’s where this
    search strategy comes in.
  • 3:17 | So let me show you what that looks like.
  • 3:18 | So over on Google, what so
    many people don’t realize
  • 3:21 | is that there’s something
    like 100,000 searches
  • 3:24 | going through Google every single second.
  • 3:27 | So just in the few seconds
it took me to explain that,
  • 3:29 | there’s been almost a
    million searches on Google
  • 3:32 | To put that into context,
  • 3:33 | that is so much more organic traffic
  • 3:35 | than is flowing on
    Instagram or on Facebook.
  • 3:38 | Now, the reason that this is so helpful
  • 3:40 | for affiliate marketing is that
you do not need a following
  • 3:43 | to create content that ranks on Google.
  • 3:45 | Now, a very important side note
  • 3:47 | that we will get into in a second here
  • 3:49 | is that Google and YouTube are both owned
  • 3:52 | by the same company.
  • 3:53 | And again, what a lot
    of people don’t realize
  • 3:55 | is that what you post on YouTube
  • 3:56 | will also show up on Google.
  • 3:59 | So you’re kind of getting
    double the traffic
  • 4:00 | just by posting in one place.
  • 4:02 | So to show how all of this
    starts to come together
  • 4:04 | for this fishing example,
  • 4:05 | there are people coming in
    here every day searching
  • 4:08 | for fishing products.
  • 4:09 | So just a baseline search here,
  • 4:11 | best fishing poll for beginners.
  • 4:14 | We’ll give that a search
and just see what comes up.
  • 4:16 | Now up top here,
  • 4:17 | you’re going to have your
    sponsored kind of products.
  • 4:19 | This is what we are going to disregard.
  • 4:21 | However, what shows up
    in these results here is
  • 4:23 | what we wanna pay attention to.
  • 4:25 | So this very first result
    here is an article.
  • 4:27 | So if we click this,
  • 4:28 | it’s by a website called Outdoor Life.
  • 4:30 | This is going to be an article explaining
  • 4:32 | what the top fishing
    pole recommendations are
  • 4:34 | for beginners based on
    this website’s opinion.
  • 4:36 | And I can nearly guarantee
    you that all of these
  • 4:39 | are going to be affiliate links
  • 4:40 | going to these specific products
  • 4:42 | that they are talking about.
  • 4:43 | Now, this article will
    continue through here
  • 4:45 | and it will explain each one of these
  • 4:47 | different fishing poles,
  • 4:48 | why it’s good for beginners
  • 4:49 | who it’s a best fit for,
  • 4:50 | where you can buy it.
  • 4:51 | However, this is the first
example of how to show up
  • 4:53 | in these search results without
    having a built up audience
  • 4:56 | on social media platforms.
  • 4:58 | Now I have been in affiliate marketing
  • 4:59 | for several years now,
  • 5:01 | so I can actually give you some
    kind of insider information
  • 5:03 | on this from my own data.
  • 5:04 | I have several of these affiliate
    marketing niche websites,
  • 5:07 | not in fishing, but I
    have them in other niches.
  • 5:10 | And overall I can say that the competition
  • 5:12 | has kind of skyrocketed over the last year
  • 5:14 | as artificial intelligence tools
  • 5:16 | have kind of come to the forefront
  • 5:18 | and allow you to write
    these massive articles
  • 5:21 | for affiliate marketing
    in just a couple seconds
  • 5:24 | by telling an AI tool to write it for you.
  • 5:26 | So to show you what that looks like,
  • 5:28 | one of the free AI
    tools is called ChatGPT.
  • 5:31 | And basically anyone can
    use this totally for free.
  • 5:33 | Just say, “Write me a blog post
  • 5:34 | about the best fishing
    poll for beginners.”
  • 5:39 | You hit enter and literally
you just wait and watch this,
  • 5:42 | write the entire blog post for you,
  • 5:44 | and then all you have to do is sub in
  • 5:46 | affiliate links or different products.
  • 5:48 | You can even tell this to mention
  • 5:50 | three different fishing poles
  • 5:51 | and have links to those poles.
  • 5:53 | This tool just makes it way too easy
  • 5:54 | to create these blog style articles.
  • 5:57 | So the competition on this specific way
  • 5:59 | of doing the search strategy
    has just grown exponentially
  • 6:02 | and my personal websites
    have taken a decline.
  • 6:05 | They are getting overwhelmed
    with people coming in
  • 6:07 | and just creating these
    AI written articles
  • 6:09 | and basically flooding Google with them.
  • 6:11 | So that brings us into the other way
  • 6:13 | that you can use these search strategy.
  • 6:14 | This is the strategy that I
    am personally doing myself.
  • 6:17 | I have been doing this one
for just about five years now,
  • 6:21 | kind of tinkering with
    it in the beginning,
  • 6:22 | getting more into it,
  • 6:24 | and in the last three years I’ve made
  • 6:25 | about a million dollars in profit total.
  • 6:27 | So with that being said,
  • 6:28 | the strategy that I’m about to show you
  • 6:30 | is hands down the right
    place at the right time.
  • 6:33 | When you talk to people
    who have made a lot
  • 6:35 | of money in a short amount of time,
  • 6:37 | they will tell you that they were at
  • 6:39 | the right place at the right time.
  • 6:40 | So with that being said,
  • 6:41 | I’m excited to show you
    what this strategy is.
  • 6:43 | So as I was mentioning before,
  • 6:45 | both Google and YouTube are
    owned by the same company.
  • 6:47 | So whatever is posted on YouTube
  • 6:49 | will also show up on Google.
  • 6:51 | So for those people who came in here
  • 6:52 | and they were searching for
    something related to fishing,
  • 6:55 | you’re going to have the
    articles that show up here.
  • 6:58 | But then as you keep
    scrolling, you’re going
  • 6:59 | to have videos show up.
  • 7:01 | These are videos that are
    pulled directly from YouTube.
  • 7:04 | So for all the people
    that are coming to Google
  • 7:06 | and they would rather
    watch a video instead
  • 7:08 | of reading an article which
    is becoming more and more,
  • 7:10 | you click in on any of these videos
  • 7:12 | and it automatically redirects
    you directly to YouTube.
  • 7:15 | Now, all this video is is a video version
  • 7:18 | of what that article would’ve said.
  • 7:20 | It’s just taking the extra
step to record it on video.
  • 7:23 | And then when you scroll down here,
  • 7:25 | you’re going to find all
    of the affiliate links
  • 7:27 | for the products that are
    mentioned in that video.
  • 7:30 | This is such a simple business model,
  • 7:32 | and all you’re basically doing is instead
  • 7:33 | of writing text articles,
  • 7:35 | you’re creating a video
    and posting it on YouTube
  • 7:38 | and you’re putting your affiliate links
  • 7:39 | to whatever products you talked about
  • 7:41 | down in the description of the video.
  • 7:43 | Now, a couple really
    important things to note here
  • 7:45 | is that this YouTuber
    specifically does have
  • 7:46 | a large audience, almost
    600,000 subscribers.
  • 7:50 | However, if you are getting
    into affiliate marketing,
  • 7:52 | when you are creating these videos
  • 7:53 | for whatever niche you are going into,
  • 7:55 | you do not need to have
    any existing following.
  • 7:58 | Since you are using the search strategy,
  • 8:00 | showing up in search results on Google
  • 8:03 | and showing up in search
    results on YouTube,
  • 8:05 | your traffic is simply
    going to come from people
  • 8:07 | searching for those topics that
    your videos are created on.
  • 8:10 | They’re not coming from your
    actual built up audience,
  • 8:13 | like the traditional way of
    doing affiliate marketing.
  • 8:16 | That is the key thing to understand here
  • 8:18 | is that your traffic flow is organically
  • 8:20 | going to come from people
    regularly coming in every day
  • 8:23 | and searching for things
    on Google and on YouTube.
  • 8:26 | Now, speaking of that,
  • 8:27 | that’s actually the really
cool part to this as well.
  • 8:29 | So I just showed you how people are going
  • 8:30 | to organically find
    this video from Google,
  • 8:33 | but the same thing happens on YouTube.
  • 8:35 | So if you search that same best
    fishing poll for beginners,
  • 8:39 | you’re going to find the videos
  • 8:41 | in these search results on YouTube.
  • 8:43 | And again, your videos will show up here
  • 8:45 | even if you don’t have a following.
  • 8:46 | And what I love about YouTube is
  • 8:48 | that your videos stay
    in the search results
  • 8:50 | for years to come.
  • 8:51 | It’s not like Instagram or
    Facebook where you post something
  • 8:53 | and then after a couple
    hours or a couple days,
  • 8:56 | it’s pretty much irrelevant
  • 8:58 | because it’s all the way down in the feed.
  • 8:59 | People aren’t finding it organically.
  • 9:01 | This is totally different.
  • 9:02 | So this number one search
    result for best fishing pole
  • 9:05 | for beginners was four years
ago is when that was posted.
  • 9:08 | The next video was posted one year ago,
  • 9:10 | two years ago.
  • 9:11 | YouTube and Google don’t
mind how old the content is
  • 9:14 | as long as it is good content.
  • 9:16 | So this is where this entire
    strategy comes full circle,
  • 9:19 | and what I’m about to explain
  • 9:20 | hopefully makes this
    whole thing click for you.
  • 9:22 | And then you’re going to see in your mind
  • 9:24 | why this is the right
    place at the right time.
  • 9:26 | So what I just showed you on ChatGPT
  • 9:28 | on how people are using
    artificial intelligence
  • 9:31 | to just create text-based articles
  • 9:33 | and flooding that onto Google
    is really hurting Google.
  • 9:36 | Google has made this known publicly
  • 9:38 | and you can see it with all
    the updates they’re rolling out
  • 9:40 | on their search results that
they are trying to get rid of
  • 9:43 | all of the artificial
    intelligence created content.
  • 9:45 | They do not want this
    fluff kind of content
  • 9:48 | that anyone can come in and create
  • 9:50 | and just copy paste onto their website.
  • 9:52 | They don’t want that on their platform
  • 9:54 | because it’s not considered high value
  • 9:56 | or value added content.
  • 9:58 | However, when you come
over and look at a video
  • 9:59 | like the one we were just watching,
  • 10:01 | that is high value, value added content.
  • 10:04 | A real person is creating a real video,
  • 10:07 | sharing their real
    experience with something.
  • 10:09 | This is the type of user
    generated content that Google
  • 10:12 | and YouTube is looking for.
  • 10:14 | They want that on their platform
  • 10:16 | instead of the artificial
    intelligence generated content.
  • 10:19 | Now, this goes for
    faceless videos as well.
  • 10:22 | So you don’t actually have to
be on camera like this guy is.
  • 10:24 | You can have your camera facing forward
  • 10:27 | and showing different products
  • 10:28 | how you use different products
  • 10:30 | and just have your voice explaining
  • 10:31 | what’s going on in that video.
  • 10:33 | That is still considered
    user generated content,
  • 10:36 | and that is what both Google and YouTube
  • 10:37 | are craving right now.
  • 10:39 | Again, I am putting my
    money where my mouth is.
  • 10:41 | This is where I’m
    spending my personal time
  • 10:43 | and effort growing these
    other niche affiliate
  • 10:45 | YouTube channels.
  • 10:46 | With all that being said,
  • 10:47 | I hope this video gives
    you a really good idea
  • 10:49 | that you can start putting
time and effort into as well.
  • 10:51 | And as always, if you have any questions,
  • 10:53 | just let me know down in the comments.
  • 10:55 | Otherwise, I will see you
guys all in the next video.
