• 0:13 | affiliate marketing and how to do it
• 0:15 | over the last six or 7 years but in this
• 0:17 | video I want to focus on the current
• 0:18 | state of affiliate marketing and
• 0:19 | particularly I want to focus on the way
• 0:22 | it’s being marketed to new affiliate
• 0:24 | marketers and people that are just
• 0:25 | getting started I want you to be able to
• 0:27 | come into this with your eyes wide open
• 0:29 | understanding what’s real about it and
• 0:31 | understanding why someone is talking to
• 0:33 | you about it in the way that they are
• 0:34 | because I can almost guarantee if you’re
• 0:35 | new to affiliate marketing that about
• 0:37 | 95% of you in today’s video in this
• 0:40 | video in this video affiliate marketing
• 0:42 | affiliate marketing an affiliate
• 0:43 | marketing business are being approached
• 0:45 | exactly the way that I’m going to show
• 0:46 | you in this video so let’s back up real
• 0:48 | quick even if you’re a veteran affiliate
• 0:49 | marketer there’s probably some stuff you
• 0:51 | don’t know about the affiliate marketing
• 0:52 | industry let’s go back to the beginning
• 0:53 | when someone named William Tobin opened
• 0:55 | an online flower shop in 1989 which
• 0:58 | incidentally is the year that I was born
• 0:59 | so that feels like a long time ago if
• 1:01 | I’m being fully honest I don’t think I
• 1:03 | realize the internet really existed back
• 1:06 | then but William Tobin did and he
• 1:07 | created an online flower shop now soon
• 1:09 | after that he was actually the first
• 1:11 | person to figure out the idea of online
• 1:13 | affiliate marketing now most people
• 1:14 | don’t know about him because in 1996
• 1:17 | Amazon launched their affiliate program
• 1:19 | and that’s when things really exploded
• 1:21 | for the industry of affiliate marketing
• 1:22 | so at this point anyone can go to the
• 1:24 | Amazon page anyone can sign up as an
• 1:25 | affiliate and anyone can start posting
• 1:27 | their links out there on a really wild
• 1:29 | west of an Internet and start making
• 1:30 | money and getting paid and if you look
• 1:32 | at this this is what affiliate marketing
• 1:34 | was and how it was initially Done Right
• 1:35 | we’ve got all these businesses they need
• 1:37 | leads they need customers to come to
• 1:39 | their site that are interested in their
• 1:40 | products and so they get these
• 1:41 | Affiliates to go out and do it and it
• 1:42 | was a beautiful system for everybody
• 1:44 | because the company wouldn’t actually
• 1:46 | pay the Affiliates unless someone
• 1:47 | clicked their link and purchased a
• 1:48 | little bit of a risk for affiliate in
• 1:49 | terms of time but really not a major
• 1:51 | risk financially and then of course the
• 1:53 | customer is able to find a product that
• 1:54 | helps them it was a win-win situation
• 1:56 | all across the board now I want to kind
• 1:57 | of fast forward now I want to fast
• 1:59 | forward here 2014 so we’re almost 20
• 2:01 | years later a lot of things have changed
• 2:03 | right social media has launched the
• 2:04 | internet is actually being used by a lot
• 2:06 | of people now it doesn’t make a weird
• 2:07 | sounds and plug into a wall when you
• 2:09 | want to use
• 2:11 | it and someone starts a company called
• 2:14 | my online business education now I want
• 2:16 | you to leave a comment if you’ve heard
• 2:17 | of that at this point so if you’re a
• 2:19 | watcher and a veteran affiliate who
• 2:20 | knows what that is also known as mob M
• 2:23 | let me know in the comments down below
• 2:24 | what this was supposed to be is an
• 2:25 | information company specifically that
• 2:27 | taught you how to start an online
• 2:28 | business and make money now the way that
• 2:29 | would do this is you come in they’ve got
• 2:31 | some really low offers you come in and
• 2:32 | you sign up for these lowball offers and
• 2:34 | then they start hitting you with really
• 2:35 | high offers after that we’re talking
• 2:37 | tens of thousands of dollars these
• 2:39 | really expensive coaching and
• 2:40 | educational packages that you could get
• 2:41 | into now here’s where things started to
• 2:43 | get sticky you would purchase this mob
• 2:45 | informational product right and then
• 2:46 | maybe some of these these Down the Line
• 2:48 | Products as well that are more expensive
• 2:50 | all it does is kind of teach you to be
• 2:51 | an affiliate marketer and promote that
• 2:53 | exact course and you start to see this
• 2:55 | circle of life thing going on here right
• 2:57 | where people are not actually being
• 2:59 | taught very much the only people
• 3:00 | actually making money are the people
• 3:01 | that bring more people in and there’s a
• 3:03 | word for this that I’m not going to say
• 3:05 | but I think most of us are fairly aware
• 3:07 | of what it
• 3:08 | [Music]

• 3:11 | is now of course mob is making money
• 3:14 | every time this is happening right so
• 3:16 | the people at the very top are raking it
• 3:17 | in here the people that started this
• 3:19 | product making a ton of money off this
• 3:20 | affiliate program and a lot of people
• 3:21 | that are promoting it are making crazy
• 3:23 | amounts of money too so the issue here
• 3:24 | is there’s no real core product the core
• 3:26 | product is just teaching you how to sell
• 3:28 | their product which is just teaching you
• 3:30 | how to sell their product which is just
• 3:31 | a product teaching you how to sell their
• 3:33 | product and you start to see the circle
• 3:34 | that we get stuck in here now news flash
• 3:36 | if you’re new to all this mob was shut
• 3:38 | down in 2020 the FTC shut them down and
• 3:40 | they actually took down a lot of the top
• 3:41 | Affiliates and the people that started
• 3:43 | the company and there were a lot of Mega
• 3:44 | big fines and MOB is no longer in
• 3:47 | existence but I want to give you a news
• 3:48 | flash if you’re new to this this is
• 3:49 | about 90% of what’s happening right now
• 3:51 | in the affiliate marketing industry and
• 3:52 | I want you to pay attention to how we
• 3:54 | explain this and see if this is exactly
• 3:56 | how you found out about affiliate
• 3:57 | marketing what we’ve got is maybe five
• 3:58 | to seven different companies that are
• 4:00 | large companies that teach you how to
• 4:01 | start an online business also known as
• 4:04 | affiliate marketing they teach you how
• 4:05 | to create these little short videos that
• 4:07 | make really bogus money claims something
• 4:10 | like this I’m going to show you how to
• 4:11 | make $5 million in the next 14 days just
• 4:14 | by blowing your nose then you tell them
• 4:16 | to pay really close attention and you go
• 4:18 | through a few random steps something
• 4:19 | totally nonsensical that would never
• 4:21 | really make anyone anywhere near that
• 4:23 | much money in that time frame now you
• 4:24 | end with a great bait and switch right
• 4:26 | you’ve got their attention they watched
• 4:27 | your video and then you bait and switch
• 4:28 | them and say okay maybe that’s not for
• 4:30 | you or maybe in reality no one’s
• 4:31 | actually doing that and making that much
• 4:32 | money but I’ve got a great other choice
• 4:34 | for you that you might actually like now
• 4:36 | all you got to do is put in your email
• 4:37 | address and I’ll send you this great new
• 4:38 | system for how to start an online
• 4:40 | business so people go and they put in
• 4:42 | their email address and then they get
• 4:43 | emails back showing the product that
• 4:45 | they’re actually promoting which is one
• 4:46 | of those five companies that we talked
• 4:47 | about in the beginning now that video
• 4:48 | goes viral obviously it’s such a
• 4:50 | terrible claim but a lot of people are
• 4:51 | hooked and they watch the whole video
• 4:52 | and then the social media side assumes
• 4:54 | that it’s a great video because people
• 4:56 | watch the entire thing and so they blast
• 4:58 | it out there and you get all these
• 4:59 | people that watch and then some of these
• 5:00 | people actually do join the program that
• 5:02 | you’re promoting now they join and the
• 5:04 | affiliate marketer gets their first sale
• 5:05 | now they’re all excited so they do
• 5:07 | what’s called leveraging they make
• 5:08 | another video sitting on a beach
• 5:09 | somewhere maybe in a hammock maybe
• 5:10 | laying in the sand and they’re showing
• 5:12 | the screenshot of that money they just
• 5:13 | made and they say I only worked 10
• 5:15 | minutes today and I made $1,000 sitting
• 5:16 | on a beach using just my computer and
• 5:18 | you can do that as well so then they get
• 5:19 | a bunch of people to join and the same
• 5:20 | thing starts to happen with those people
• 5:21 | they get in they join the course they
• 5:22 | start to watch the course that teaches
• 5:24 | them how to make a bunch of bonus money
• 5:25 | claims once they make the bogus money
• 5:26 | claim people come in they start to
• 5:27 | leverage their success again they start
• 5:29 | to bring a bunch of more people in and
• 5:30 | those people learn the exact same thing
• 5:31 | and no one’s actually learning
• 5:32 | everything but everyone’s just doing the
• 5:33 | exact same
• 5:34 | thing all that’s happening is people are
• 5:37 | learning to sell a product that they
• 5:38 | just bought which is a product that
• 5:40 | teaches you how to sell the product that
• 5:42 | they just bought so if you’re new maybe
• 5:43 | you’ve been in it for a few months you
• 5:44 | still remember how you first found out
• 5:46 | about it let me know down below if some
• 5:47 | of this starts to sound a little bit
• 5:49 | familiar now all the big guys today they
• 5:51 | learn their lesson they’re a little
• 5:52 | better at phrasing things they’re a
• 5:53 | little better at structuring things so
• 5:55 | that it no longer is going to get them
• 5:57 | in trouble with the FTC but I got to say
• 5:59 | that if it looks like a duck if it
• 6:00 | quacks like a duck if it swims like a
• 6:08 | duck so let’s talk real quickly briefly
• 6:11 | about how this works for the other 10%
• 6:13 | there’s really two routes they’re doing
• 6:14 | one they’re either paying to run and
• 6:15 | send ads to different their affiliate
• 6:17 | links that’s an entirely different ball
• 6:19 | game that costs a lot of money that
• 6:20 | takes a lot of testing and things like
• 6:21 | that and we’re not going to dive into
• 6:23 | that here but everybody else what
• 6:24 | they’re doing is they’re finding a niche
• 6:26 | they’re finding a category something
• 6:27 | that they love a hobby something they’re
• 6:29 | passionate about and they can talk about
• 6:30 | and they can create you know a group
• 6:31 | online about then they start to build up
• 6:33 | a following they build up an audience of
• 6:35 | people that are connected to them that
• 6:36 | resonate with them because they post
• 6:38 | quality content that help people achieve
• 6:40 | their goals their dreams their passions
• 6:42 | solve their problems in that particular
• 6:43 | space as they start to do this they
• 6:45 | start to see that this audience has
• 6:47 | needs and so they start to search out
• 6:48 | high quality products that they can
• 6:49 | promote to this audience that will help
• 6:51 | them solve their problems that will help
• 6:52 | them achieve their desires now they tell
• 6:54 | Their audience about these products that
• 6:55 | they love and that they’re using in
• 6:57 | their lives and that are working for
• 6:58 | them and Their audience grows to them
• 6:59 | too and they start to make money as
• 7:01 | Their audience does this or often times
• 7:02 | it just is very natural they’ll be
• 7:04 | teaching Their audience something that
• 7:05 | can help Their audience and very
• 7:07 | naturally they can include an affiliate
• 7:08 | link to a product that has helped them
• 7:10 | doing the exact same thing cuz they’re a
• 7:11 | little bit ahead of Their audience so
• 7:13 | let’s dive in here wrp the Slate here do
• 7:15 | a good example let’s say you’re big into
• 7:17 | the fire movement and if you’re not
• 7:18 | familiar with that it’s Financial
• 7:19 | Independence retire early it’s people
• 7:20 | that want to retire early I love the
• 7:22 | movement uh but let’s say You’re really
• 7:23 | big into that movement and you want to
• 7:24 | create a a channel a YouTube channel
• 7:26 | maybe a Tik Tok Channel something like
• 7:27 | that around this the subject that you
• 7:29 | love and you’re passionate about now
• 7:30 | you’ve been in this for a while you
• 7:31 | remember when you first started you
• 7:32 | spent months maybe years kind of signing
• 7:34 | up for different stock Brokers and
• 7:35 | different online platforms that could
• 7:37 | help you buy and sell stocks and you
• 7:38 | grew to really hate some of them some of
• 7:40 | them had way too many fees some of them
• 7:41 | had issues you know were glitchy at
• 7:43 | certain times but you finally found one
• 7:45 | that you loved you just it was the one
• 7:46 | right it had all it checked all the
• 7:47 | boxes it was simple to use and you just
• 7:49 | grew to love this this broker this
• 7:51 | product so you start to make all kinds
• 7:52 | of videos about fire about you know
• 7:54 | retiring early then you might do
• 7:55 | something really basic like hey this is
• 7:56 | the best stock broker I’ve ever found
• 7:58 | after going through 10 different you
• 7:59 | might do something a little more from
• 8:00 | the side where you say hey this is how
• 8:02 | you start an IRA if you want to join the
• 8:04 | Fire movement well and guess what step
• 8:06 | two is it’s telling them they’re going
• 8:07 | to have to sign up for a broker and you
• 8:08 | can tell them hey I’ve been through 10
• 8:10 | Brokers and guess what nine of them are
• 8:12 | terrible but I’m going to leave a link
• 8:13 | down below to the one that really
• 8:14 | actually worked for me and you can just
• 8:16 | keep pumping out videos like this that
• 8:17 | people in the fire movement would like
• 8:19 | and every single one of these videos
• 8:20 | very naturally is going to have
• 8:21 | affiliate links peppered throughout it
• 8:23 | there’s no endless loop here there’s
• 8:25 | really just one person providing a bunch
• 8:27 | of value and getting compensated by the
• 8:28 | company as they do so and it’s truly a
• 8:30 | win-win-win situation where the
• 8:32 | affiliate wins the company wins by
• 8:34 | getting a customer and the customer wins
• 8:35 | by finding one of the best products
• 8:37 | because the affiliate actually cared
• 8:38 | enough about the customer to tell the
• 8:39 | truth affiliate marketing done right
• 8:41 | means everyone wins now I’m going to be
• 8:43 | straight honest I used to sell courses

• 8:46 | course up until about a year ago I don’t
