The Brown Firangi is seeking a part-time Social Media Marketing Specialist with a passion and experience in creating South Asian content to help build and maintain our social media presence. The ideal candidate will be able to create and curate engaging content that resonates with the South Asian community and know how to grow a social media account (primarily Instagram and TikTok).
About the Brown Firangi: The Brown Firangi is a digital publication that creates content and reviews for South Asian food, fashion and lifestyle across Australia, the US, and the UK. Think of us as the Broadsheet for the South Asian diaspora. Our mission is to celebrate the richness and diversity of South Asian culture through engaging and informative content.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement a social media strategy that aligns with the company’s goals and objectives, with a focus on creating engaging South Asian content
Create, curate, and publish engaging content on social media platforms (Instagram and TikTok) that resonate with the South Asian community
Stay up-to-date with the latest social media trends and best practices.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Marketing Manager
Requirements:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Knowledge of social media platforms, tools, and trends with both TikTok and Instagram.
Creativity and a flare to experiment with different content styles and types.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Passion for South Asian content and eagerness to learn and grow in the field
Hours and Compensation: This is a part-time position with a weekly commitment of 10 hours. Compensation will be $27 per hour.
