• 0:46 | Amazon and you get a commission if
• 0:49 | anyone makes a purchase using your
• 0:51 | unique referral link so it’s Amazon’s
• 0:53 | way of saying hey thank you for bringing
• 0:55 | people to our website and making a
• 0:57 | purchase here’s some money for doing
• 0:59 | that so you you are a partner with
• 1:01 | Amazon so if you make money they make
• 1:03 | money and that’s why it’s called the
• 1:05 | Amazon Associates program so let me give
• 1:07 | you a common example that may make some
• 1:10 | more sense to you for how this works so
• 1:11 | say you’re like watching this video and
• 1:13 | you say hey Whitney what kind of camera
• 1:15 | do you use for your videos so instead of
• 1:18 | me just saying it’s a Canon 90d what I’m
• 1:21 | going to do is I’m going to go to Amazon
• 1:23 | search for a Canon 90d and make sure
• 1:26 | that it’s a good supplier based on the
• 1:27 | reviews I’m going to get my unique unque
• 1:30 | referral link using this tool called
• 1:32 | sight stripe which I’m going to show you
• 1:33 | how to get in a second I’m going to get
• 1:35 | my link for the camera and instead of
• 1:37 | just saying I use a Canon 90d I’m just
• 1:39 | going to send you my referral link and
• 1:41 | say hey here’s the camera I use so if
• 1:44 | you click on my unique referral link and
• 1:46 | make a purchase within the first 24
• 1:48 | hours I get a commission from that and
• 1:50 | that is why I love affiliate marketing
• 1:52 | because it is a complete win-win you
• 1:55 | know I get to help you know what kind of
• 1:57 | camera I use and I get to make money in
• 1:59 | the process and before I was doing all
• 2:01 | that for free but now that I know about
• 2:03 | this it’s nice to get a little Kickback
• 2:05 | for something that I was doing anyway
• 2:06 | and to sweeten the deal even more say
• 2:09 | whoever clicks on my affiliate links and
• 2:10 | then they say well I also need to get
• 2:12 | some new pots and pens or whatever
• 2:14 | because you can buy anything from Amazon
• 2:16 | anything that someone adds to their cart
• 2:19 | during the time they clicked on my
• 2:21 | unique affiliate link I get a commission
• 2:23 | for everything that they purchase so
• 2:25 | that is one of the coolest things about
• 2:26 | the Amazon affiliate program but here is
• 2:29 | the thing Amazon offers one of the
• 2:33 | lowest commissions out there when it
• 2:35 | comes to affiliate partners and I going
• 2:37 | to put this chart in the description
• 2:39 | because it’s going to be hard to read on
• 2:40 | the screen but you want to be able to
• 2:42 | see how much commission you can get for
• 2:44 | recommending different products and
• 2:45 | different categories and you can see how
• 2:47 | low it is you know but I’m going to
• 2:49 | still use Amazon because over 310
• 2:52 | million people have Amazon accounts and
• 2:54 | over 200 million of those people are
• 2:56 | Prime members which means that they can
• 2:58 | just get anything and purchase it will
• 3:00 | come either the same day or the next day
• 3:03 | so that means most people are going to
• 3:05 | probably use Amazon when it comes to
• 3:06 | making a purchase the credit cards are
• 3:08 | already linked it’s just a seamless
• 3:10 | process and people trust Amazon so if
• 3:12 | I’m referring something to Amazon it’s
• 3:14 | it’s a lot easier to buy from Amazon
• 3:16 | than it is some Mom and Pop Shop they
• 3:18 | never even heard of before so that’s why
• 3:20 | I’m going to still choose to promote
• 3:21 | Amazon because I rather have some money
• 3:23 | than none so that’s kind of my reasoning
• 3:25 | for it but you can still earn thousands
• 3:27 | of dollars from them and I’m going to
• 3:28 | show you a couple of ways in a minute
• 3:30 | but let’s first get your account set up
• 3:32 | and this is where I’m going to show you
• 3:33 | how to not use your Social Security
• 3:36 | number so signing up is super easy just
• 3:38 | Google Amazon Associates program or I’ll
• 3:41 | just put the link in the description but
• 3:42 | you can click on the first link you see
• 3:44 | you want to go ahead and sign in or
• 3:46 | create an account by it’s putting in
• 3:48 | your personal information then when you
• 3:50 | get to the next screen they are going to
• 3:51 | ask you to put in your associate ID that
• 3:53 | could be anything to identify yourself
• 3:56 | for your business and then they want you
• 3:57 | to put a website in now if you have a
• 4:00 | website put that in if you don’t you can
• 4:02 | actually just put in your Instagram page
• 4:04 | or social media page and that will do
• 4:06 | then you need to tell them what type of
• 4:08 | content you want to create if you don’t
• 4:10 | know you could just put in lifestyle
• 4:11 | content and then choose the following
• 4:13 | that best describes your content and
• 4:14 | fill in the rest and then you’re done
• 4:17 | but don’t skip this step head to the
• 4:19 | bottom where it says enter your payment
• 4:21 | and tax information and then put in your
• 4:23 | preferred payment method which is check
• 4:25 | or a gift card and the minimum payout
• 4:28 | method is set at $100 so that means you
• 4:30 | need to accumulate $100 before you can
• 4:33 | get a check sent to you after you save
• 4:34 | changes go to provide text information
• 4:37 | now if you’re just getting started and
• 4:38 | you don’t have an official business yet
• 4:41 | you can just hit individual and if you
• 4:43 | are a US resident fill in the
• 4:45 | information on the next screen and where
• 4:47 | it says us text payer identification
• 4:50 | number click the drop down and you are
• 4:53 | going to choose employer identification
• 4:55 | number now this is where you’re going to
• 4:57 | avoid using your social security number
• 4:59 | because if you’re like anything like me
• 5:01 | I do not like to use my social security
• 5:02 | number with anyone so to get this number
• 5:04 | go to irs.gov and go to employer
• 5:07 | identification number right on the
• 5:09 | homepage now this is free to do but it’s
• 5:11 | only available for us residents so I’m
• 5:14 | from the US so I can only talk to how it
• 5:16 | we do it in the states I don’t know
• 5:18 | where they do it in any other countries
• 5:19 | and I don’t want to steer you guys wrong
• 5:21 | so I don’t know how it works for people
• 5:22 | outside of the US okay so now you can
• 5:25 | get access to your affiliate links you
• 5:27 | just automatically will have S strive on
• 5:29 | your page so you can go to anything
• 5:31 | right now on Amazon click on a product
• 5:34 | page to get your unique referral link
• 5:36 | and now you can go get started with your
• 5:38 | unique referral links now listen up
• 5:40 | because this part is very important just
• 5:43 | because you are now in the program this
• 5:45 | does not mean that you’re going to stay
• 5:47 | in the program because you are in the
• 5:49 | program for a trial period until you
• 5:52 | have three qualified sales within the
• 5:54 | first 180 days now qualified sales mean
• 5:58 | that you need to have at least three
• 5:59 | people to purchase from one of your
• 6:01 | affiliate links so once you apply the
• 6:03 | clock starts ticking and the race is on
• 6:05 | to get people to buy from your links so
• 6:07 | if you don’t get enough sales by 180
• 6:10 | days you will get rejected and kicked
• 6:12 | out of the program but you can always
• 6:14 | apply but the only thing from my
• 6:16 | understanding is all the links that you
• 6:18 | used before in your previous account
• 6:19 | will no longer work so you will have to
• 6:21 | update those so that’s the only thing so
• 6:23 | you do want to do and probably use some
• 6:25 | of the tactics that I’m going to share
• 6:26 | in this video on how to get people to
• 6:28 | click on your affiliate links so so if
• 6:29 | the thought ever crossed your mind like
• 6:32 | well I’ll just use my own affiliate link
• 6:33 | when I purchase things from Amazon well
• 6:36 | that’s not going to work and if you also
• 6:38 | had the thought well I know my friends
• 6:40 | and family they use Amazon I’m going to
• 6:42 | send them my link so I can get U at
• 6:44 | least three qualified sales well wrong
• 6:47 | again and I have no idea how Amazon
• 6:50 | actually knows who your friends and
• 6:52 | family are but they know and that is a
• 6:55 | really scary thing but trust me I’ve
• 6:57 | tried it I tried to get my friends and
• 6:59 | to click on my affiliate links and my
• 7:01 | family and then I never received any
• 7:03 | commission from it because they knew so
• 7:05 | as scary as that is basically what you
• 7:08 | need to do is you have to get people to
• 7:10 | click on your links that are basically
• 7:12 | strangers so if I’m here on YouTube and
• 7:15 | I promote something with my unique
• 7:17 | affiliate link from Amazon and you click
• 7:19 | on it I’m going to get commission from
• 7:20 | that because you guys are basically
• 7:22 | strangers in Amazon’s eyes which you are
• 7:24 | and if you want to take the YouTube BR
• 7:26 | to promote Amazon affiliate links or any
• 7:28 | other affiliate products I highly
• 7:31 | recommend it because I make really
• 7:34 | really good money here on YouTube and
• 7:36 | the bulk of my income comes from
• 7:38 | affiliate commission so that’s why I’m
• 7:40 | like so big on affiliate marketing
• 7:42 | because it works and I actually put
• 7:43 | something together for those who want to
• 7:45 | learn my strategy on YouTube so if you
• 7:47 | guys are interested on learning how to
• 7:49 | promote things on YouTube definitely
• 7:50 | check out my link in the description
• 7:51 | below that I want to share with you guys
• 7:53 | but you can also use Facebook but like I
• 7:55 | said you can’t use friends or family so
• 7:57 | this would really only work if you
• 7:59 | probably have like a Facebook public
• 8:01 | page or public group because you cannot
• 8:03 | have anything you cannot promote your
• 8:04 | Amazon links in your private groups
• 8:07 | because Amazon has to be able to track
• 8:09 | where those links came from so if the if
• 8:11 | the page is private Amazon won’t be able
• 8:13 | to see where it came from so you will
• 8:15 | not get credit for any of those
• 8:17 | purchases so you whatever you do if you
• 8:19 | want to promote it you can’t promote it
• 8:21 | in your email either it doesn’t work
• 8:22 | that way you have to have create a store
• 8:24 | or something like that and if you want
• 8:25 | me to do a tutorial on creating a store
• 8:27 | I can do that for you guys as well but
• 8:29 | the only ways to actually be able to get
• 8:31 | credit for your affiliate links is from
• 8:32 | strangers so it’s going to be where
• 8:34 | you’re using it on your social media and
• 8:36 | I’m going to give you an example a
• 8:37 | couple examples right here where these
• 8:39 | people have probably made thousands and
• 8:41 | thousands of dollars by using a simple
• 8:43 | strategy by just promoting their the
• 8:45 | value of products and then just saying
• 8:48 | Link in the bio or something like that
• 8:50 | check these out so look at this guys
• 8:52 | right here this real right here got
• 8:55 | 222 million views so just a imagine how
• 9:00 | many people have bought this from him
• 9:02 | it’s under 30 seconds he just showed how
• 9:04 | the cool this was and that’s it and in
• 9:08 | here he says comment chair for a link
• 9:10 | and in the there’s over 32,000 people
• 9:13 | that have actually put a comment here
• 9:17 | and so he sent them a link to his Amazon
• 9:19 | and that is how he has made money from
• 9:21 | this so that is like so smart to do and
• 9:24 | here’s another example this is one where
• 9:26 | you can actually not show your face and
• 9:29 | this one had like over 30 million views
• 9:32 | right here she never shows her face she
• 9:34 | just shows how the product works and
• 9:36 | basically she tells you to uh comment
• 9:38 | below ice cold and then all these people
• 9:41 | have commented and she has made money
• 9:43 | off of them and she clicking on her
• 9:45 | unique referral link and making a
• 9:47 | purchase so you can think about your
• 9:49 | strategy see how people are doing it
• 9:50 | today make it your own and I always say
• 9:53 | make it your own and execute get
• 9:54 | inspired by how other people are doing
• 9:56 | on social media and anything that you
• 9:58 | have on Amazon the even this is the best
• 10:01 | part about Amazon you don’t even have to
• 10:03 | purchase the product from Amazon if you
• 10:05 | already have stuff at home and you just
• 10:06 | want to share it you can share your
• 10:08 | Amazon affiliate link if it’s the same
• 10:11 | product it doesn’t have to be from you
• 10:12 | didn’t have to buy it from Amazon for it
• 10:14 | to work but you can still promote it so
• 10:16 | how cool is that is that you can just
• 10:18 | kind of think about what things do you
• 10:19 | have around the house that you like and
• 10:21 | have value that you can just share with
• 10:23 | other people use your Amazon links do
• 10:25 | Post like this to show the value of it
• 10:27 | and then when they click on youri
• 10:29 | affiliate link and you can do it in your
• 10:30 | link in BIO you can put your unique
• 10:33 | Amazon affiliate link right there in the
• 10:35 | stories and make money from it that way
• 10:37 | too it’s a number of different ways that
• 10:39 | you can make money when it comes to
• 10:40 | social media and you don’t have to show
• 10:42 | your face if you do things like this
• 10:44 | Creator now you also do want to create
• 10:46 | urgency when you’re promoting your
• 10:47 | affiliate links because you only have 24
• 10:50 | hours from the time someone clicks on
• 10:52 | your affiliate link to make a purchase
• 10:54 | in order to get credit for the sale
• 10:56 | which is completely bogus now say like
• 10:58 | they clicked on on your link and they
• 11:00 | waited 2 days and they never made a
• 11:01 | purchase but they went back to your
• 11:03 | affiliate link and like it starts again
• 11:05 | like the clock starts again so don’t
• 11:07 | think like you have to change your links
• 11:08 | or anything like that just keep your
• 11:09 | links the same never change them but you
• 11:11 | only have 24 hours from that time that
• 11:13 | they click on it to actually make a for
• 11:15 | them to make a purchase for you to get a
• 11:17 | credit for it like most affiliate
• 11:19 | programs that I’m with you get like 30
• 11:20 | days 90 days it’s really good but Amazon
• 11:23 | they’re like you have 24 hours so that’s
• 11:26 | one of the cons as well when it comes to
• 11:28 | the Amazon affiliate program program is
• 11:29 | that you only have 24 hours for them to
• 11:31 | make a purchase from the time they click
• 11:33 | on your link they also have this thing
• 11:35 | called Last Link attribution and
• 11:37 | basically what that means if you’re like
• 11:40 | on blog post or something like that and
• 11:41 | you’re looking at different things if
• 11:43 | the last person’s link that you click on
• 11:46 | that is the person that’s going to get
• 11:48 | commission for your purchase that you
• 11:49 | make so if you if someone clicked on uh
• 11:52 | your link first and then they went to
• 11:54 | somebody else’s page and they had
• 11:55 | another Amazon product they were
• 11:57 | promoting that and they made a purchase
• 11:59 | that person would get the sale so that’s
• 12:01 | how it works with the Amazon affiliate
• 12:02 | program it’s not that great in other
• 12:04 | ways but most cases you don’t find too
• 12:07 | many people going to all these different
• 12:08 | places before they make a purchase so
• 12:10 | you kind of have that but that is just
• 12:12 | something something to know when it
• 12:13 | comes to the Amazon affiliate program
• 12:15 | but since I said like since so many
• 12:17 | people have an Amazon account it just
• 12:19 | makes more sense if you’re want to
• 12:20 | promote something just to promote it
• 12:22 | from Amazon because it’s going to be
• 12:24 | easier for them to say oh okay I can
• 12:25 | just click this my credit cards already
• 12:27 | in there I can go ahead and make a
• 12:28 | purchase some money is better than none
• 12:31 | depending on what you’re promoting so
• 12:33 | it’s really Case by casee and it seems
• 12:35 | like disclaimers are not as a big deal
• 12:37 | as they used to be based off of what I’m
• 12:38 | seeing on social media but if you have
